Planetary and Galactic Alignment
Planetary and Galactic Alignment
The eyes and expectations of humanity need to be directed to the distant worlds. That is why everything touching on this subject ought to be investigated without prejudice. If this requires exact knowledge, astronomy is just what is needed.
Μ.
We have all heard, especially in Astrology or in catastrophic eschatology scenarios, of the possible effects of a Planetary or Galactic alignment.
When Galactic Alignment occurs, then the Earth, the Sun and the center of the Galaxy are on the same line. The Earth and the Sun, as two points in space define a straight line. As the Earth moves around the Sun - second basic motion (the first is the rotation of the Earth around its axis) - this line "marks" as it extends beyond the Sun, and a different point in the sky. Over the course of a year, this point marks a full circle in the night sky. This circle is called the ecliptic.
The first and most important fact is that this circle not only intersects with the galactic plane - this is inevitable - but that the intersection line passes through the center of the Galaxy! From all random directions in space, it happens to pass through the center of the Galaxy. The two levels form a relative angle of about 60 degrees.
The second important fact is that this alignment in the present “era” occurs at the time of the winter solstice on December 21, when the Sun is in Sagittarius. When we say era it is because the alignment date changes slowly but steadily over the years. The cause of this change is the very slow oscillation/wobbling of the Earth on its axis. Just as a spin makes a small oscillation as its axis swirls, so does the Earth's axis make a similar oscillation (third basic motion) which lasts about 25,000 years! So, it takes this long for this galactic alignment phenomenon to be repeated in the winter solstice; we live in a special time period!
The same oscillation of the Earth's axis creates the change of astrological times. When astrology began to be recorded, the straight Sun-Earth marked, at the vernal equinox (March 21), the beginning of the constellation of Aries and we entered the age of Pisces since this slow motion is in the opposite direction. Every about 2,000 years (25,000 / 12 zodiac signs) the straight line "changes" zodiac sign, so that now it marks the beginning of Pisces and, as it moves in reverse, announces the age of Aquarius. But this is another matter.
This precession caused by the earth wobbling very slowly on its axis also shifts the position of the equinoxes and solstices one degree every 71.5 years. Because the sun is one-half of a degree wide, it will take the December solstice sun 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator (see diagram below).
The precise alignment of the solstice point (the precise center-point of the body of the sun as viewed from earth) with the Galactic equator was calculated to occur in 1998 (Jean Meeus, Mathematical Astronomy Morsels, 1997).Thus, the Galactic Alignment "zone" is 1998 +/- 18 years = 1980 - 2016. This is "era-2012."
This Galactic Alignment occurs only once every 26,000 years and was what the ancient Maya were pointing to with the 2012 end-date of their Long Count calendar.
These are the astronomical facts of the matter. From a larger perspective, we can visualize the 2012 Galactic Alignment in the following way:
Position A is where the December solstice sun was in relation to the Milky Way some 3,000 years ago. Position B is 1,500 years ago. And position C is "era-2012", when the December solstice sun has converged, as a result of the precession of the equinoxes, with the exact center-line of the Milky Way (the Galactic equator). Notice that the place of alignment is where the 'nuclear bulge' of the Galactic Center is located.
What makes this rare alignment even more interesting is the fact that in the Galaxy center there is the alpha-Sagittarius, the black hole of our Galaxy! So, in this period the Earth-Sun-Black hole are on a straight line. Astrologically this has a special and huge significance, but not astronomically, since it is considered simply as an event without natural consequences.
Of course, the question remains: What is the significance of the alignment occurring in the winter solstice? The two solstices are important points from an astronomical, geometric and meteorological (!) Point of view. In the traditions the alignment takes place in the "Gate of Gods" which stands opposite the "Gate of Man" which is exactly the opposite point, in Gemini. The question then rises: "Who passed this Gate at this time?".
Searching for the Lunar Calendar, the Moon was in a full moon period around the winter solstice in the following years:
2010 |
December 21 |
2013 |
17 |
2015 |
25 |
2018 |
22 |
2021 |
18-19 |
This means that during these specific years the Moon-Earth-Sun-Black Hole (in this exact order) were in alignment !!! This shocking cosmic conjuncture has undoubtedly left its unique mark on the fate of our planet. Let's not rush to say that we do not yet see anything shocking happening (do we have eyes to see it?), Because subtle energies never act in a glaring way. As a wise man from the East says: "When the glass is broken, the noise is heard only when it hits the ground."
In closing we would like to mention two other dates, two other important alignments. This time it is about planetary alignments in the territory of our Solar System.
The first happened on 13/6/2010 (see the picture) where on the right side are Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus in a straight line with the Sun and Venus, Mars and Saturn on the other side. It is interesting that, as we see, our Earth is perpendicular to this alignment, something not so favorable position we would say.
The other alignment will take place in September 2040 and is shown in the diagram below. Here are in approximate alignment on the one hand Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury, [Sun] and on the other hand the Earth. This alignment will also be an astrological alignment (with the geocentric reference system) as opposed to that of 2010 where the planets, from Earth, appeared to be randomly scattered! This demonstrates the importance of sometimes seeing the image of the solar system as an outside observer and not as someone on Earth!
Let's increase the sensitivity and better tune our antennas so that we can listen to the messages of the worlds.
GLOSSARY
The ecliptic: The path followed by the sun, moon, and planets. It is the plane of our solar system. The ecliptic encircles the earth and is divided into twelve constellations, or zodiac signs.
The Milky Way: The bright band of star that our solar system belongs to. It encircles the earth and is wider in the region of Sagittarius because that is where the 'nuclear bulge" of the Milky Way's center is located (our Milky Way is saucer shaped).
The Galactic equator: The precise mid-line running down the Milky Way. Analogous to the earth's equator, it divides the galaxy into two hemispheres, or lobes.
The December solstice sun: The sun, on the December solstice. It is one-half of a degree wide.
The Precession of the equinoxes: The earth wobbles very slowly on its axis and this causes the position of the equinox to shift backwards, or precess, through the signs of the ecliptic at the rate of one degree every 71.5 years. The full precessional wobble is complete in roughly 25,800 years.
